Product Development Engineer – Refrigeration

A KZN-based company is seeking an experienced *Product Development Engineer – Refrigeration* to join their team. Requirements * BSc / BTech / BEng in Mechanical Engineering * *5+ years’ experience* in Product Design & Development * Experience in Project Management and Design for Manufacturing * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and cost optimisation * CAD experience; *SolidWorks advantageous* * Experience with materials and manufacturing processes * Refrigeration and/or thermodynamics experience advantageous * Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills Key Responsibilities * Lead new and existing product development projects from concept to completion * Optimise product cost, quality and manufacturability * Manage Engineering Change processes and multidisciplinary projects * Conduct FMEA, benchmarking and product testing * Evaluate materials and suppliers * Interpret thermodynamic test results and identify product improvements * Provide technical support to production * Ensure product compliance with relevant regulatory standards * Support Letter of Authority applications * Oversee the thermodynamic testing laboratory *Advantageous:* Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, SANS/IEC 62552, 60335-1 and 60335-2-24. Pay: R40 000,00 - R50 000,00 per month Work Location: In person
